Angelina sported a killer leather jacket in this 2008 thriller, which co-starred James McAvoy and Morgan Freeman. Ever one for a good cause, the actress sold the XS jacket, which featured a diagonal front zipper and tassel detail, at auction to raise money for Plan!t Now, a non-profit organisation which deals with disasters around the world. Valued at $1,000, the jacket actually managed to sell for over $7,000.

The skin-tight yellow and black jumpsuit Uma sported in Quentin Tarantino's violent revenge thriller is now one of Hollywood's most famous costumes. Unsurprisingly, this cool and deadly look became a popular Halloween costume after the film's release.

Alexis Bledel, Sin City
In this adaptation of Frank Miller's graphic novel series, shot almost entirely in black and white, Gilmore Girls star Alexis Bledel stood out in a skinny-fit studded leather jacket. She wore the staple piece over a corset and accessorised with gothic jewellery. The raunchy role and rebellious outfit certainly helped Alexis shed her good-girl image - such is the power of good leather gear.
